Climate notes for October 20th 2023
This week in Ireland we’ve been besieged by poor weather. Wind and torrential rain marks the second major declarative storm of the year. Cork, in the south of the country, has had entire towns drowned under meters of water. While here in Dublin, we’ve had a day or two of persistent, awful rain leading to localised flooding. Which in turn leads to atrocious traffic, poor conditions for walking/cycling and sections of the entire city grinding to a halt.
